Award-winning composer Larry Groupé is one of the most talented and versatile composers working today in the entertainment industry. With an impressive musical résumé in film and television as well as the concert stage, his achievements have received both critical praise and popular acclaim.
Larry is a frequent collaborator of director Rod Lurie, composing for The Outpost, the Monsters of God pilot, Ressurecting The Champ, The Contender, and Commander in Chief. Larry also enjoyed special recognition when he teamed with the Classic Rock legends, YES, co-composing ten original songs, writing overtures, arrangements and conducting the orchestra on their Symphonic Tour of the World.
Larry has two Emmy awards to his credit for best documentary score - "Jonas Salk: Personally Speaking", and "Residue", a short subject film about the early US involvement in Cambodia. Larry was also nominated for his scoring work on ABC’s series "Line of Fire". He’s also composed the music for numerous feature films that have shown at the Sundance, Berlin and Toronto International Festivals.
Larry has also composed, conducted and produced over eighty CD recordings. His music has been performed by a number of symphony orchestras and his recent composition, Water Unfolding, a fantasy for orchestra commissioned by the San Diego Symphony, has been warmly received by the public as well as obtaining excellent critical reviews.
